MASTER’S DEGREE IN SCHOOL COUNSELING

Getting Started: MS in School Counseling
Applicants to the Alfred University Downstate (off-campus) program go through the same admissions screening as applicants to the on-campus counseling program. All admissions decisions are made by full-time Alfred University faculty who are members of the counseling program admissions committee.

Application Requirements: MS in School Counseling
The following items are required as part of the application process:
A completed Alfred University graduate school application
    Apply online
    Send a $60 application fee (Make checks out to Alfred University)
Graduate Record Examination (GRE) scores (verbal, quantitative, analytical writing)
Official sealed transcripts of all previous undergraduate and graduate work 
Two letters of recommendation from individuals (supervisors, previous professors) who can attest to your qualifications for graduate study

A written personal statement

A personal interview with program faculty

Applicants whose written materials meet the basic requirements for admission will be interviewed periodically during the school year. We will contact applicants to schedule interviews.

Application Deadline: MS in School Counseling
The application deadline is May 15, 2010 for classes beginning July 2010.

Getting Started: MS in Literacy
Applicants to the Alfred University Downstate (off-campus) program go through the same admissions screening as applicants to the on-campus literacy program. All admissions decisions are made by full-time Alfred University faculty who are members of the literacy program admissions committee.
